Michael Pedersen is a prize-winning poet and author of Boy Friends, which was a Sunday Times Critics Choice and shortlisted for the Saltire Scottish National Book Awards. He was awarded a Robert Louis Stevenson Fellowship and is the current Writer in Residence at the University of Edinburgh, and Edinburgh's Makar.
He joins us for his debut novel Muckle Flugga, a story of life on a remote island and a world turned upside down by a stranger's arrival, testing bonds of family and tradition and leaving a young dreamer's future hanging in the balance.

The event will be chaired by the brilliant Jackie Kay - poet, novelist and writer. From 2016 to 2021 Jackie was the third modern Makar, National Poet for Scotland.
