Route Map (and gpx)

Ride summary:

We'll meet at Port Edgar at 09:10 for a pre-ride briefing and to get the bikes loaded onto the bus. We'll hop off in Charlestown, where we'll visit the limekilns and the harbour before setting off at a relaxed pace westbound on the Fife Coastal Path. We'll take a short breather at Culross. And a vote on whether to continue to the end of the FCP and access Tullialan through Clackmannan or turn off to use the woodland trails through Devilla Forest.

After a wee bit exploring the grounds of Tullialan we'll join the quiet road to Alloa and past the access point of the West Fife Way to join the farm track to Gartmorn Dam, where we'll stop for lunch. It's advisable to carry a picnic just in case the café's not open. Otherwise lunch options are sit in, sit by the dam or attempt to cycle its circumference before we need to make tracks.

We'll head toward Alloa via the woodland paths along Brothie Burn, and cycle past Alloa Tower and along the Clackmannan Way to the train station, where we'll catch the bus back to Port Edgar via the southern side of the loop.

PLEASE sign up only if you're sure you can make it - you will go onto a waitlist and receive notification of a place and must confirm for the bus booking. Priority will be given to regulars - this means you have not cancelled within 12 hours of a ride more than once nor been a no show within the last year. There are only 6 places as we need a group booking for the bus. While the bus is free to use, not honouring your booking means money lost by the sponsors and another member of the public missing a place.
