Sunset Cruise

The forecast currently has the wind dropping to quite low Thursday evening, so we'll head out east from the Meadows, follow the Innocent Railway to Little France and up the Wisp to Danderhall. We'll then take the shared use path toward Old Craighall, and divert off it a bit to explore Newton Tower (just outside the walls of Dalkeith Country Park). So as not to risk locked gates ending up in a lengthy detour we'll leave the much more scenic woodland path through the park for another day, and double back onto the still under construction shared use path to Old Craighall. We'll join the path round the new estate through to run the length of the River Esk Path, turn back along the coast toward Fisherrow, and head on toward the centre via the Brunstane Burn Path. We'll conclude the journey via the Duddingston Low Road, above Dr Neil's Garden, to catch the sun setting off Duddingston Loch, before descending back to the Meadows.
