Saturday Afternoon Movie- Fantastic Four: First Steps

On a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic parallel Earth to the 'primary' Marvel Cinematic Universe of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four have long defended their planet from threats such as the Mole Man while leading Earth into a peaceful age of demilitarization. However, as Reed and Sue Richards reveal Sue's pregnancy, they face the greatest threat of their lives as the mysterious Silver Surfer comes to Earth to declare the coming of her master, the planet-devouring Galactus.

With Dr Who 'on hold' for the foreseeable future, I felt a film would be of interest; I considered 'Superman' as it also features an alien defending his adopted home planet of Earth, but I decided that Galactus felt like a more Doctor-esque adversary, particularly given the multiversal implications of what's coming up for this franchise.

As planned we will meet in the lobby before the film and may go out for something to eat afterwards (or at least talk about it once it's over).
