For Edinburgh Film Club's first meeting, we'll be going to see Cameo Cinema's screening of Akira Kurosawa's 1950 classic, Rashomon!
Winner of the Best Foreign Language Film at the Oscar's and the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Kurosawa's influential film has gone on to inspire numerous directors with its innovative plot layout, from Quentin Tarantino to Richard Linklater to Ridley Scott.
The film will begin at 16:55, so we'll meet at the Cameo cafe adjacent to the screening rooms at 16:45. Following the film (88 minutes), we can return to the cafe for a discussion of Rashomon.
Please register your interest if you'd like to come. I'll be in contact to those who do two weeks before the event to book our tickets and plan the seating.
