Welcome to Edinburgh Four Legged Walkers! This group is perfect for outdoor lovers who enjoy walking/hiking alongside their furry companions. Having a dog is not a requirement, if you want to walk, chat and have some fresh air, you're welcome to join. A great opportunity to socialise your dog with other doggies/dog lovers.
***All dog owners need to keep their dogs under control and abide by the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. A detailed description of the walk will be provided, including whether there is a possibility of encountering livestock. ***
I will be organising a variety of walks, from short evening walks to longer hikes (as I have an active doggie who can go for miles!), so consider your dog's fitness before signing up to longer walks.
Distance: Approx. 26km
Elevation: Approx. 850m
There will be many sections of the walk along roads, some busy. Ample notice will be given to allow walkers to get their dogs on leads.
Bear in mind, this is a challenging walk so please consider you and your dog's fitness. Due to being a long walk, the walk may be cancelled or postponed in the event of adverse weather.
The advantage of being based around Edinburgh, there are plenty of trams, busses and trains to take you back to the starting point if you are unable to complete the walk.
Walking can pose a danger of personal injury to both you and your dog, and all participants should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions, involvement and enjoyment.
Participants are also responsible for ensuring that their walking gear is suitable for the nature of the walk and the prevailing weather conditions (which participants are responsible for checking) and for bringing adequate food and water supplies.
By signing up for this walk you are confirming that you have fully read, understood and accepted the foregoing and the following caveats, including that all participants join this walk of their own volition and are responsible for their own safety and enjoyment and no participant is owed any formal duty of care by the group or by the walk leader.
