Roslin Glen

Details

A nice walk around Roslin Glen, meeting at the Rosslyn Chapel car park (free parking), taking a walk down to the glen and around the ruins of an old gunpowder factory (assuming there is no gunpowder present), across the river and up to the old Roslin train station (rest assured, no trains) and then following the river back to the start while stopping off to have a look at Roslin Castle.

A nice walk, there will be a couple of short sections along a road, ample notice will be given to make sure the doggies are back on leads.

We will meet at the car park at Rosslyn Chapel, there is ample parking but if for any reason, the car park is full, there is plenty of residential parking available a short walk away in the village.

We will be roughly following the Walk Highland route here: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/lothian/roslin-glen.shtml - but with a couple of minor changes to the route to reduce the amount of time walking along roads with an option to extend the walk a little further along the river.

Optional stop for refreshments at Dolly's Cafe at the end of the walk back in Roslin.
