A historical walk around Cramond Island and Lauriston Castle.

Meeting at Cramond Beach Car Park (free parking, sometimes, it can be full but there is plenty of street parking in Cramond - I doubt this is the case due to being January!) We will walk across and explore Cramond Island (safe crossing times - 10:18-14:12). While I encourage you to explore the WW2 fortifications, bear in mind, there is often broken glass inside and would suggest that dogs shouldn't go inside them.
After exploring the island, we will cross back to Cramond, then walk along the beach towards Silverknowes beach. From there, we will cross a couple of fields and explore Lauriston castle (dog friendly) with a coffee stop at Mimis Bakehouse inside the castle grounds. After refreshments, we will circle back towards the starting point.

Distance: approx. 7km
Elevation: approx. 70m
Terrain: Mixture of beach, fields, promenade and a short section of road. There is likely to be some muddy sections.

Hope to see you there :)
