"Yellowcraig must rank as one of the finest beaches in East Lothian, a stunning stretch of sand with views to the islands of Fidra, Craigleith and the Bass rock. It is the main draw of this excellent circular walk beginning from the picturesque village of Dirleton, famed for its grand castle."

Meeting at Dirleton Castle car park (free parking) - parking is limited, but there is plenty of road parking around Dirleton green nearby. We will start off by taking a wonder around Dirleton Castle itself and it's gardens (£4.50 entrance - dogs must be kept on a lead). After that, we will head westwards, towards Archerfield, walking down the Dirleton Solar walk - a 1:3.6 billion scale of the Solar System.
After a quick stop at the Archerfield garden centre to get coffee/refreshments, we will explore Archerfield and it's walled garden before heading off towards Yellowcraig beach - there is a quiet stretch of road here and it's advisable to keep dogs on a lead.
After a walk along the beach, we will then circle back towards Direlton.

Distance: c.9km
Ascent: 55m

We will (for the most part be following this Walk Highlands route (but in reverse):
