What we’re about
We are an active existing group that meet regularly to play the board game of go (also known as Weiqi/Baduk). Through meetup we are hoping to meet new people who are interested in playing the game for the first time.
We currently meet regularly at the Cameo bar on Lochrin Place.
Go is a traditional strategy game. If you are particularly interested you can find out more about the game by watching a fun video review at https://youtu.be/RRBjN8empIs or even taking a look at [Learn to play Go (online-go.com)](https://online-go.com/learn-to-play-go). However I would encourage you to come along and try it out yourself - we are absolutely happy to show you the game from scratch and we would hope to pit you against another beginner.
If you have played the game before then you are certainly welcome too. Experienced players may want to contact us through the group on the online go server at [Edinburgh Go Club (online-go.com)](https://online-go.com/group/4651).
We advertise one event per month on meetup so that we can get absolute beginners to play against each other on these nights. If you have played even just a little you may want to come to our weekly club nights. These take place at the Cameo bar on Lochrin Place
Our regular club nights are now every Wednesday.
