ABIDING IN TRANQUILITY
Details
Following our well-attended special event, The Power of a Quiet Mind with International guest teacher Gen-la Kelsang Sangden, this four-week course offers the opportunity to explore and meditate more deeply on these inspiring teachings.
Perfect for those who attended the talk and wish to continue their journey, it is equally suitable for anyone who was unable to join and would like to discover these practical methods for themselves.
In our busy and demanding world, it is easy for our minds to become restless, distracted, or overwhelmed. Through meditation, we can learn to overcome these unquiet states and discover a deep experience of peace, clarity, and inner calm.
Drawing on Buddha’s Mahamudra teachings, Gen Tubchen will guide us in practical methods for overcoming distractions, settling the mind, and developing concentration on the mind’s naturally peaceful and spacious nature. As our mind becomes quieter and more focused, we will gain confidence in our ability to work with our inner world to solve our problems and increase our joy.
Suitable for both beginners and experienced meditators, this course offers practical guidance and the chance to deepen meditation step by step in a supportive and accessible way.
This course also provides ideal preparation for our June weekend retreat on Mahamudra and concentration, helping us build confidence and familiarity with these meditations before engaging deeply with them in retreat.
Each class includes 2 guided meditations, a practical teaching, and time for discussion. Meditation is done seated in chairs with the option to sit on a mat and cushion if you prefer.
This course is perfect for anyone wishing to deepen their meditation practice. It is possible to drop-in to any class if you cannot attend the whole course.
After the class there is tea and biscuits in the cafe provided free of charge for those who would like to stay on and discuss the class or their meditation practice.
Fee: £10 per class | £30 for all 4 weeks | members free | Concessions available for those unable to afford the classes.
Venue: KMC Edinburgh, 172 Leith Walk, EH6 5EA
