FIRST HIKE OF THE YEAR! BURNTISLAND TO KIRKCALDY

Please join us for the first walk of the year from Burntisland to Kirkcaldy!
We shall be following the Fife coastal path. The walk is moderately trying with mostly level land, we shall be walking on the beach where we can.
The scenery is a mixture of coastal and urban areas.
The walk should take 2.30 to 3.0 hours depending on our speed and breaks etc. The route is about 8km
Could we all please meet outside Boots (EH1 1BB) inside Waverley station at approximately 11.00am. We shall be be taking the train at 11.15 from Waverley station and arriving in Burntisland at 11.52.
The best value train tickets is to book a return ticket to Kirkcaldy and this should cost £10.80. There are trains regularly returning to Edinburgh from Kirkcaldy throughout the day.
We shall be probably stopping for something to eat after the walk, and everyone is welcome to join us.
If anyone want to join us in Burntisland for the walk, you are very welcome. Please let me know if this is the case.
Regarding the weather, this is Scotland and it is winter time, so please dress accordingly.
Feel free to bring drinks and snacks, we shall be stopping for a quick break.
There are plenty of toilets along the way.
Animals are very welcome on the walk - but must be kept on a lead.

We do not employ qualified guides, leaders or first aiders on any of our events. The group works on the same basis of being a group of friends who go out walking together, who invite others to join them on this basis.

Participants in Group events are reminded that outdoor activities frequently need specialist equipment (boots, waterproofs, etc) and the group does not provide these. Participants are responsible for assessing their own risk, the safety of themselves and their guests and the suitability of any equipment used. Any Medical Conditions that may affect the participants during the walk should be notified to the walk leader prior to the start of the walk.
While accepting no responsibility or liability, for walks and other outdoor events, the event host or walk leader may, at their discretion, not admit you to join the walk or other event if in their opinion you are ill-equipped for the terrain and weather conditions.
Dogs are usually allowed on walks, but this is entirely at the discretion of the walk leader- please see the individual event details or contact the walk leader- dogs must be kept under close control at all times and on a lead where necessary or requested by the walk leader.
