Queenferry Forth Bridges Walk – North Queensferry & Back

Join us for a relaxed and scenic Sunday walk with fantastic views across the Firth of Forth 😊
We'll travel together by train from Edinburgh to North Queensferry, enjoy a short walk around the waterfront and viewpoints, then walk across the Forth Road Bridge towards South Queensferry. We'll enjoy the views, take a few photo stops and then walk back across the bridge to North Queensferry.
Meeting Point
Edinburgh Waverley Station – in front of Costa Coffee
Please meet at 11:00 ish AM
We plan to take the 11:18 AM train, so we'll start making our way to the platform around 10 minutes before departure. Unfortunately, we won't be able to wait for late arrivals.
Please arrange your own train ticket to North Queensferry.
As it's difficult to predict exactly when we'll finish, I'd recommend buying a ticket that gives you flexibility for your return journey rather than relying on one particular return train.
This will be approximately 2–3 hours of relaxed walking, including stops for photos and enjoying the views.
The main part of our walk will be across the Forth Road Bridge and back, with beautiful views of the iconic Forth Bridge and surrounding coastline.
Please make sure you're comfortable walking for 2–3 hours before joining.
🌦️ Weather – Please Come Prepared
The weather in Scotland can change very quickly! 😊
The bridge is very exposed, with little or no shelter, so please check the forecast before coming and dress appropriately.
A waterproof hooded jacket is strongly recommended, as the bridge is very exposed and there is little or no shelter. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring some water.

This is a friendly social walk rather than a professionally guided hike. Everyone attending is responsible for their own safety, wellbeing and suitability for the walk.
Weather conditions may mean that we need to change or shorten the route.
Please only RSVP if you genuinely intend to attend. Only members on the attendee list will be able to join the event, so if your plans change, please update your RSVP and give someone on the waiting list the opportunity to come.
