Great Cumbrae Island / Largs hiking trip

Details

Hi everyone,
On Saturday the 17th of May I'm planning a trip to Largs and The Isle of Great Cumbrae, located on the west coast of Scotland. The plan is to do a little hike up a hill near Largs before taking the ferry over to Great Cumbrae and walking up to the Glaid Stone at the highest point of the island. The views of the mainland, sea and surrounding islands from there are spectacular and some of my favourite in Scotland. After that, we'll walk over to the other side of the island, round and back to the ferry and then the train. If you haven't been to a Scottish island before, this is an excellent one to start with.

- We'll be meeting on the west side of the Scott Monument on the grass at 8:45am and taking the train.

- Cost: about £25 each for the return train fare and ferry.

- Please remember to wear good walking shoes and bring plenty food and water.

I look forward to seeing you on the 17th! - Myles

A quick note:
It costs over £200 a year to run the Meetup page and quite a bit of time planning and organising hikes, so there are a few things you could do if you wish to help me out:

  1. A donation of your choice to my Paypal account.

The address is: mylesalexander@outlook.com (I recommend £5 a year fee for regular members)

2. As you might know, I wrote a epic fantasy novel named
"Knights of Eternity", which is currently available as an ebook and print book. It would be very much appreciated if you purchased a copy of either. I can also sell you a signed copy (ask at the meeting). At the very least, please click on my website and have a look - it’s good for my Google rankings - Thanks a lot!
