Easter Sunday Marooned on Cramond Island camping trip!

Details
It’s finally happening! We are going on our first official group camping microadventure! 🏕 The weather is getting milder, with lows of 6° or 7° during the night, and the weather is looking nice during the day so those with suitable sleeping bags, mats and layers of clothes won’t freeze!
Where are we going, where and when do we meet?
We are going to spend the night on Cramond Island this Easter Sunday!
We can cross from 19:20 so let’s meet at 19:00 on the mainland, next to the causeway.
How do I get there?
I can take 3 or 4 more people if my car is okay (just fitted a new battery, will test it again Sunday morning) and am leaving from Abbeyhill, happy to pick up anyone else along the route. If anyone else fancies offering a car share, leave a note in the comments.
I’d normally actually cycle there, but my bike is out of action. You can cycle, bus or walk!
Who should come?
Anyone that is excited to camp overnight (in their tent or concrete shelter), and has a warm sleeping bag, a good camping mat to keep the cold from the ground (I take a reflective mat as well) AND more than enough warm layers of clothes.
Remember, we are marooned on the island until the next morning, which makes this a proper microadventure!
What will we be doing?
I’ll bring a few of my Minirig speakers for some ambiance, as well as some wine and/or beers to celebrate taking the Monday off! I’d recommend bringing a small camping chair so you don't get jealous of mine!
It’s a fun island to explore, so we’ll have a good wander around.
We can cook our dinner/breakfast on gas stoves, or take food you can eat cold.
Anything to be aware of?
We might not get our preferred camping spot, be preferred for a few challenges if that’s the case. Last time I didn’t use my tent and stayed in one of the concrete shelters, and it was actually way more fun!
What should I bring?
- Tent / Sleeping Bag / Mat (Insulated or separate insulating mat)
- Dinner (if you fancy a late tea!)
- Breakfast (coffee/porridge etc.)
- Cooking utensils and stove if cooking
- Water/Juice/Snacks
- Other beverages (remember there’s no going to the shops or pub, take more than you need!)
- Head Torch
- Battery pack and cables
- A few plasters/ first aid / required medicines
- Warm clothes and waterproof jacket
- Swimming gear and towel if you fancy a swim
- Song requests (good ones only!)
- Firewood (optional - see below)
- Most importantly, your sense of fun and adventure!
A note on fires 🔥
If cooking, we should cook using our gas stoves. If people want a fire, it should only be with wood we bring along ourselves, and only on the rocky beach, ensuring all traces are removed the next day.

When do we leave?
We need to get off the island between 07:45 - 12:25 so we still have time to get up and have breakfast. Perhaps aim to cross back about 11am.
If anyone is working on Monday morning, they can leave any time from 7:45.
How do we stay organised?
We will make a WhatsApp group for this meetup, you will get added once you RSVP (it’s optional but works well for other meetups I’m part of)
And finally...
Need to borrow anything? Ask in comments. Have anything spare to loan - announce in comments.
Ask any other questions in the comments too, lets be an awesome community!
If you can no longer make it, don’t worry, its OK, just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update your RSVP, As I’ve set a limited number of spaces.
What are you waiting for, let’s go! 😁
