WHO IT'S FOR
Per the description of the group, this session is for people who are interested in people, team, leadership and organizational development and who want to be share their interest with others.

Typically, attendees are leaders or managers, work in Learning and Development, are consultants, students, psychologists, coaches or are personally interest in helping people develop and improving workplaces.

SESSION TOPIC AND STRUCTURE
Marie and Sue will lead this interactive session, where you will have the opportunity to generate perspectives through the IDG lenses for tackling your own current pressing challenges.

The IDGs are a framework of 23 cognitive, emotional and relational capacities that enable collective action on complex and systemic challenges. (https://innerdevelopmentgoals.org) The founders started the IDGs in response to recognising that the world already has all the knowledge we need to tackle the climate crisis and the challenges facing democracy and peace—yet we continue to focus on marginal changes. The framework is still evolving after the initial crowdsourcing from 1000 experts to derive the 23 capacities within five dimensions of development.

Being – How we relate to ourselves
Thinking – Our way of understanding and handling complexity
Relating – How we interact and build relationships
Collaborating – The ability to create change together
Acting – Turning insights into action

The IDG initiative aims include: 1) to raise awareness that inner development is a necessary part of the transformations required to address the root causes of problems instead of just the symptoms. 2) to simplify the language of inner development so it feels accessible to everyone and 3) to encourage organisations, governments and society in general to integrate inner development into their change efforts.

The IDGs are relevant for developing the inner and collective capacity to navigate any complex challenge we face in the workplace and life, as well as for addressing global sustainability challenges.
