Looking for a place to geek out over the rise and fall of galactic empires? Whether you’re a lifelong Asimov fan, just finished your first "Future History" novel, or completely new his work, we’d love to have you at our next meetup!

We aren't just here to talk about the plot—we’re going full meta. We’ll be diving into the "Seldon Crises" / the plot of the book, but also exploring:

  • The Author: Who was Isaac Asimov, and how did his life shape the stars?
  • The Context: How the 1940s and the decline of the Roman Empire inspired a galactic future.
  • The Influence: How this "Social Science Fiction" masterpiece changed everything from Star Wars to modern sociology.

### What to Expect

  • Intellectual but Accessible: We love a deep, high-concept discussion, but we leave the gatekeeping at the door.
  • Inclusive & Welcoming: New faces are our favourite. Whether you have a PhD in Psychohistory or just thought the cover looked cool, your presence will be welcomed.
  • The Vibe: Relaxed, friendly, and fuelled by curiosity.

***

The Goal: To leave the session with a deeper understanding of the book than when you started—and hopefully a few new friends.

When: Wednesday 11th March - 18:30
Where: The Outhouse

Meta Links: There are loads of articles and analysis on this! We are only reading the first book so there might be spoilers for the wider series.
