Accelerating UX Insights: The Notes to Insights to Design (NID) Method (Dr. Ziwei Wang)
In this session, Dr. Ziwei Wang will introduce the Notes to Insights to Design (NID) method, an innovative approach to UX research that streamlines usability testing analysis and accelerates the process from user feedback to actionable design decisions.

Dr. Wang will cover:
• The Purpose of UX Analysis: Explore the key objectives of usability testing analysis, addressing common challenges like time constraints, biases, and the difficulty of turning data into design decisions. Learn how the NID method overcomes these issues.
• The NID Method and Its Application: Gain a step-by-step understanding of how to apply the NID method in UX projects, using structured note-taking templates, collaborative analysis, and directly translating insights into design recommendations.
• Comparison with Traditional Methods: Discover how NID contrasts with traditional techniques such as thematic analysis and affinity mapping, and its effectiveness in producing high-quality insights within a three-hour timeframe.

Design and Business: Aligning UX with Strategic Goals (Laura Tecce)
In this talk, I’ll explore the intersection of design and business, focusing on how design can drive business outcomes and align with organisational goals. We’ll look at the importance of understanding business models, product-market fit, and how to support businesses through different stages of a product's life cycle. I’ll also touch on how success metrics, both business and design, are crucial in demonstrating the value of design. Throughout, I’ll emphasise stakeholder empathy, the need for design maturity, and how to influence business decisions through design, ultimately highlighting how designers can shape better business outcomes beyond just financial success.
