Happy New Year one and all!

For our first meetup of the year we are delighted to welcome Miriam Vaswani, Content Design Consultant and Squad Lead at SPARCK. Miriam will be speaking to us on the intriguing theme of designing content within the context of a crisis. We'll also take the opportunity to reflect on the year just past, and gaze forward in contemplating what 2023 might mean for the Edinburgh UX meetup!

Content design can change the outcome of a crisis
Content design choices have a direct effect on the way a crisis unfolds, its outcome and its longterm effects. That's true for the people experiencing the crisis and for the people who manage it. Yet, there is often a disconnect between crisis managers and designers. This talk bridges that gap by showing designers how a crisis is managed and how their work affects it.

About the speaker
Miriam is a content designer and squad lead for a design and innovation consultancy. Previously, she led digital communications for a cultural relations organisation. She’s also a fiction writer with work in Extra Teeth, The Fiddlehead, Gutter, PEN, untethered, Tin House, The Stockholm Review of Literature, Valve and other publications. She has worked in complex environments, including countries experiencing conflict, constitutional change and transitional justice.
