East Linton to Haddington via Traprain, Hailes Castle and Amisfield Walled Garde

Join me for this walk along River Tyne from East Linton to Haddington. we will of course not doing it straightforward, half way we make a detour up to Traprain to enjoy a fantastic round view. After descending we pay a quick visit to the remnants of Hailes castle before we continue up stream to Amisfield Walled Garden. After the garden we are 2km away from a pint or a bus back to Edinburgh
Requirements: a substantial good level of fitness is required for this 17.6km/11 mi walk .
Distance: ca 17.6 km /11 mi

Total time: ca up to 5.0 hours plus breaks (or as long as it takes )
Terrain: tarmac , gravel paths, grass paths, muddy paths, with some very boggy spots (after prolonged heavy rain) ,
Clothing: High walking boots with good grip, all weather clothing, waterproofs,
Food /drink: bring a packed lunch and sufficient water to avoid dehydration,
Dogs: sheep land and cattle pasture, minor roads, well behaved dogs with no interest in chasing hares and sheep / lambs are welcome, provided you also bring a short lead with you.
Getting there :East Coast bus X7 brings you every 20 min to East Linton the last one to take to be on time in East Linton is leaving 09.28 from West Maitland Street (09.30 Shandwick Place, 09.38 Waterloo Place), arriving in East Linton at 10.36
Coming back: From Haddington there is every 20 min a X7 back to town
