A summer ride to the Secret Herb Garden

Join Joan and Emma for a lovely summer ride to the Secret Herb Garden!

• Out through Craigmillar Castle Park and Little France Park - some climbs.
• Old railway path - short break at Straiton Pond Local Nature Reserve.
• Onwards to the garden - special thanks to Alison for finding this place!
  There's plenty to explore including herbs and plants, animals and a wee shop. The cafe has indoor and outdoor seating. If busy, there could be a long wait to get drinks etc. so feel free to bring your own.
• Back by a slightly different route.

Toilets available at start/end, Straiton Retail Park, Secret Herb Garden.

Surface/Difficulty/Distance
Mostly quiet roads, tarmac paths, some gravelly bits, and potentially muddy bits on short sections. Approx. 20 miles. As always, no one will be left behind ❤️
Suitable Bike Types
Gravel, hybrid, road with wider tyres, e-bikes (you must be able to push your bike up a very short but steep incline, with our help if needed!)
What to Bring
• Two spare inner tubes (right size for your tyres) and tools to remove your wheels if they are not quick-release
• Lock, water and snacks
