Edinburgh Fringe Outing
Venue 302 Underbelly, Bristo Square - McEwan Hall, Venue 302 Underbelly, Bristo Square - McEwan Hall,, Edinburgh, GBIt's become a bit of a tradition for Edinburgh Humanists to meet-up over the festival and catch a show together, and of course to chat about it afterwards.
This year we're going to see: 'That's Why Mums Go to Switzerland', an award winning show which will give us much to think about and talk about!
Everyone is welcome to join us for a show that introduces "three generations of pissed-off women living together under one roof, and a trip to Dignitas".
It has been described as, "A darkly comedic, deeply personal solo play written and performed by Bonnie Oddie, developed with True Story London. It explores complex family dynamics and assisted dying, following a middle-aged woman and her mother who is preparing for the end of her life".
We will go on Wednesday 19th August at 11:25am and afterwards we will try to find a table in Bristo Square to continue the conversation. Look out for Lara (our Community Engagement Manager) and local group volunteers in their colourful Humanist Society Scotland T-shirts, and holding up a sign with the Happy Human logo on it outside the venue after the show, and then we'll find a table together.
We value open dialogue, diverse viewpoints, and thoughtful exploration, so if you're interested in discussing assisted dying within modern family dynamics get yourself a coffee or refreshment of your choice and join the conversation.
The show is on at Underbelly, Bristo Square (Clover), at 11:25am from 5–31 August (except 17th). We'll be there on the 19th.
Venue: In Clover, part of the Underbelly Bristo Square (Venue 302) located at Teviot Place, Edinburgh, EH8 9AG (next to the McEwan Hall)
Please note participants are responsible for buying their own theater ticket and refreshments afterwards.
