Cramond History Walk - Ian Rodger
Details
Join us on a guided walk around Cramond, led by Ian Rodger the chair of Cramond Heritage Trust. Ian will focus on the 18th century history of the village and its buildings, leading up to the destruction of half the village in 1826 in order to “improve” the estate.
The walk will start at 11am from the Trust’s Interpretation and Education centre at The Maltings, 6 Riverside, in Cramond (near the river mouth, beside the steps). (What3Words ///bucket.lasts.match). It will last for about 90 minutes but there are plenty of places to take a seat if you wish!
A donation of £3.50 per person is requested to go towards the work of the Trust and keep The Maltings open. Find out more about Cramond Heritage Trust: https://cramondheritage.org.uk/
Lothian no. 47 bus stops near the top of Cramond Glebe Road; it is about a 10 minute walk down that road and round the corner to The Maltings. If you are coming by car, do NOT use the postcode in your sat nav as it will take you to the wrong side of the river; park in the main village carpark – a right turn near the bottom of Cramond Glebe Road (parking in the village is for locals only).
Please sign up by Tuesday 9th April if you’re coming.
