Every community in Scotland deserves to be safe. This talk busts the myths, equips you with an understanding of the scale of human trafficking in Scotland, what forms it takes in your community, and how you can safely respond.
The talk will be delivered by Joy Gillespie, CEO of Survivors of Human Trafficking Scotland (SOHTIS). SOHTIS is committed to the recovery of victims of human trafficking, long-term support that leads to independent, fulfilled living for survivors, and using their expertise to influence national policy and legislation.
Joy has over 25 years' experience in third sector strategic development, advocating for and delivering change across Scotland, Africa and Asia. She is passionate about justice and committed to long-term, sustainable solutions to ending poverty in Scotland. She is a Board member of Poverty Alliance, Go Youth Trust and Bright Futures Co-Operative.
