What we’re about

Want a challenge?
Seek an RPG with dangerous adventure and actual possibility of failure?
Looking to Role-Play? You know - step into a different persona and take on their motives, thoughts, emotions?
Hope to stop sinking dollars into a commercial game company bottom-line?
Tired of re-playing the same old dungeon crawl over and over?

Then...

You might have found your game.
I offer to GM an in-person table-top RPG. This could be for one session, or an ongoing campaign.
It would take place at my home in South-East Edmonds; spitting distance from Shoreline. It would occur on the weekends up to twice per month.

I am 57 years old, male, and started playing AD&D (1e) at age 13. I've been GM-ing various systems since I was 17 including 1e, 2e, 3&3.5e, Rolemaster...

I offer two possible game systems:

  1. Catopia. You haven't heard of it because I invented it. Its a simple rules system I understand like the back of my hand, with nothing to purchase, ever. It fits into a 40 page PDF (distributed and occasionally updated by e-mail). Characters are one sheet printed both sides. Its skill-based where D&D is class-based - PCs don't have a profession, they have skills. Its multi-genre, bundling aspects of fantasy, sci-fi and old west. Its set in a post-holocaust parallel Earth (North America). Not Mad Max. Think frontier USA and you'll be closer... if you throw in the occasional sorcerer or witch, insane AI, dwarf, zombie or alien landing you'll have a clearer picture...
  2. JD&D. This is what TSR should have crafted when they wrote 2e. Its derived from 2e, but its rewritten. Basically, to include what the tone-deaf zombies at TSR ignored. %-tile Strength is gone, memorization is gone, its easier to qualify for a class or classes with 'normal' rolls, attributes start to grant benefits at 12 or 13 (not 15 or 16), THAC0 is gone, all classes use the same unified experience chart (so level 12 = level 12, whether its a Thief or a Wizard), multi-class hit point averaging is gone, and lots more. Yeah, its not 2e, exactly. But if you know 2e (or 1e), you'll recognize it. Its available in a PDF, 277 pages and counting.

I hope to meet people and find suitable players. If people wish, we could launch a game on day 1 using pre-gen characters. Or we could discuss game details, setting, GM style, future game dates, building characters, diversity & inclusion, etc.
