We welcome people from all ages and walks of life. Single or not, new to the city or born here!
We host a large variety of events geared towards encouraging people to "Meet Up" and enjoy the company of other like minded people, and have fun!
The Organizers of Edmonton Active and Leisure operate this Meetup Group. Our goal is to provide unique and welcoming events for meeting new people and enjoying activities but most of all having fun with us!
EA&L Group is different than most groups. We are not geared towards one type of activity. We do a variety of activities in this group. We strive to do new and different activities.
We hold events from live music and dancing, dining out, dinner theatre, movie nights, snow tubing, river tubing, days at the beach, BBQ/picnics, cross country skiing, cycling, billiards, beach volley ball, slow pitch, hiking, and camping.
We are always open to new ideas and suggestions.
To join our group (and remain a member) you are required to have a recognizable close-up photo of yourself (without other people in the photo). This is to help the organizers recognize you at events, as well for the security of all the members. If you don't have a photo or are wearing sunglasses or self darkening lenses, you will not be allowed to join. Your member name must be your personal name, not a user name or business name.
To keep our membership list meaningful, members who have not visited our group site in over 6 months will be removed. If you are removed, you are always welcome to request to rejoin once you are able to be an active member. We have a 3 event no show policy. If you can't make it to an event we expect you to change your rsvp to no. Members with multiple no show's will be removed as well.
Edmonton Active and Leisure Group pays fees to Meetup Corporation to use the Meetup platform. Group fees are $450 per year. We collect $5 from each member upon joining the Group and each calendar year thereafter, or as determined by the Organizer, to cover the cost of the Group fees. Fees are non refundable.
