Edmonton LGBTQ Meetup Presents: Trans Talks
Details
Trans Talks, hosted by the Edmonton LGBTQ Meetup, is a monthly online presentation that will provide tools, debunk transphobic myths, and offer hope to the Trans Community in Edmonton and the rest of Alberta.
Ian Brown, a talented and experienced youth worker, will lead our next presentation. Ian has over a decade of experience working and living in the Trans Community. He has made presentations covering many topics, from safe chest binding to being trauma-informed and supportive of queer and trans kids.
The social environment is becoming hostile towards the trans community, and it has been targeting trans-diverse families. Social media is becoming littered with anti-trans sentiment, and the news feeds us report after report about the suppression of trans rights. This fact can be terrifying for the gender-diverse family, especially knowing that there are leaders in our home province who seek to harm us!
If you are a parent in a gender-diverse family, an educator, a healthcare professional, or simply a concerned ally, this presentation is for you!
By donation only. The funds raised from ticket sales will help pay for current and future presenters and administrative fees.
