Presenter Bio:

In my everyday life fulfilling the role of a Project Portfolio Manager am trying to make sure that the projects within our Portfolio are managed to the best of our organizations ability. But when the regular workday is over and the night sets in I am following my real passion and I turn into BATMAN.

Well… maybe not quite that dramatic. In my free time I am trying to learn new things and make my life at home as easy as possible using all kinds of IT helpers. My first excursions into Linux I undertook in the early 2000 when I bought a magazine with Redhat Linux. Unfortunately, that was not a very successful one and it took another almost 14 years before I continued that journey.

Just three years ago, when the Raspberry Pi 3b was released, I continued. I acquired the credit card sized computer and installed Raspbian. This was my personal break through moment with Linux. I learned to know the system and appreciate its flexibilities as a standalone machine or a completely headless server. I refurbished old hardware setting up a full Debian Stretch system and ever since I am expanding my knowledge around Linux and its functionalities.

Besides tinkering with Linux I am passionate about my family. My 3- and 5-year old’s demand a lot of time and attention. Besides all the activities I occasionally find the time to tinker around on my IT projects.
