Since 2015 , we've met every Friday at the Edmonton Inn on Kingsway at 7pm. Our server has been with us that entire time (Maribel). We are a widowed group that welcomes men and women of all ages.
MEETUP IS FREE FOR MEMBERS (other than group dues) - YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY TO JOIN MEETUP OR SIGN UP FOR A TRIAL MEMBERSHIP (for meetup PLUS)

I have two groups (on meetup.com) for men and women of Edmonton who are widowed. This group which is for all ages, and also Widows and Widowers under 55.
The group for everyone meets on Wednesdays and Fridays.
- - - Fridays have about 15 people depending on the evening although most no longer sign up as we just always meet at the Edmonton Inn on Kingsway at 7pm. (drinks are moderately priced - 1 drink/pop minimum)

Meetup is now charging for some features that used to be free to you before - they aren't very important I don't think but it's different a bit
1. the membership list of our group is now not visible to everyone (some can still see it but others have to pay for it)
2. the list of who is coming to events is hiding new attendees but listing familiar faces
3. the members who pay for meetup plus get special badges by their profile pictures and are featured prominently in the meetup list
4 Direct messaging is being limited for those that don't pay for meetup plus (men must not message women in our group regardless - if you want to contact someone you must ask for their number - we are protecting our group from scammers)
5 waiting lists are being line jumped by those with meetup plus
6. reminder messages are prioritized for those who have meetup plus.
Group Rules -
- you must have lost a partner.
- Men must not contact any woman through any of our group utilized apps - if you are going to privately contact a member, you must ask for their contact information. (scammers are vetted and kicked out) Using this group in any way that is inappropriate will not be tolerated.
