Hacktoberfest X Tech Talks by eDreams ODIGEO

It's Hacktoberfest! Let's celebrate open source over food, learning, and great company! Tech Talks by eDreams ODIGEO are hosting and joining forces with Hacktoberfest for an amazing meetup next October 4th!

We'll talk about what is OS and how you can contribute to open-source projects. This is a great event for all levels - whether you are a beginner and want to get introduced to OS, or an OS contributor that is already involved in projects.

First talk - STEVEDORE - the Docker images factory - Aleix Penella

Discover how Stevedore (https://gostevedore.github.io/) streamlines the Docker image-building and promoting processes, making it effortless to manage a large number of Docker images efficiently. In this talk will be presented the motivation behind creating Stevedore and exploring its various features, from automating descendant image builds to promoting Docker images seamlessly.

Second talk - What developers can learn from Soviet space failures - Andrey Sitnik

The space industry is very similar to software development. Human mistakes, a big project with a lack of communication, and insane complexity. So there are a lot of things, which we can learn from them: not blame users, but change UI; report about issues in open source libraries; use linters. Especially, when all these best practices are wrapped in funny and real stories. Andrey Sitnik, the creator of PostCSS and Autoprefixer, will talk about how he uses his passion and knowledge of space industry mistakes in PostCSS development.

Third talk - raylib: a 10 years open-source adventure - Ramon Santamaria

Personal experience working for 10 years in a popular free and open source project, a simple and easy-to-use C library to create all kinds of graphic applications. Ramon will talk about commitment, motivation, sustainability and the ups and downs of open-source development for such a long time.

Fourth talk - How to embed CSS into a strongly typed language like OCaml - David Sancho

David Sancho is going to give some insights about how embed CSS and OCaml can work together.

We have a fantastic lineup of speakers who will bring us great and interesting talks, followed by some time for networking with snacks and beers! We look forward to seeing you!
