Hello!

Hey Everyone -

Just wanted to send a quick note and update folks on some activity.  We didn't host a meet-up last month because YEP-DC held an event that a lot of folks went to at iStrategy Labs.  This month is Social Media week in DC (this week) - so our next event right now is tentatively scheduled for March 28th and will feature a unique best selling author I'm sure everyone will want to hear from. He made 2013's Forbes list of 30 under 30 in education - so I'm excited to have him come speak.

Also, there is an event tonight at the Fridge in DC sponsored by the National Art Gallery in which a discussion on the use of Social Media in the classrooms will be happening.  It's from 5:00 - 6:00pm and the details are below if anyone wants to come.  A message on this event was sent out earlier, so this serves more as a last minute reminder for folks who missed the previous thread or are new members.  Details are below - and I hope to see you all soon!

How are teachers using social media in the classroom? And how can your organization or museum best reach and support educators by providing relevant resources, facilitating social activities, and connecting them with your social content?

Join us for a discussion of the rapidly evolving role of social media in teaching and professional development in the education sector.

Directions

The Fridge DC is located across the street from Matchbox Pizza on 8th Street SE, Barracks Row in Eastern Market. Find the alley between Belga Cafe and Senart’s Oyster & Chop House. Go half way down the alley, and you will find our building.

From The Metro: 2 blocks from the Eastern Market Station, orange and blue line. Find 8th Street when exiting the station by going straight toward the Starbucks on the corner. Make a right onto 8th Street. Walk 2 blocks until you get to Matchbox Pizza. Follow directions above.
