Engaging Education Workshop: Connecting Schools & Tech Start-Ups
Details
TechHeads is proud to announce a partnership with the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and an exciting new series of evening events.
For any education and learning tech start-up, engaging schools and teachers (getting face-time inside a school or college to test your product) is no easy task. But if you're going to succeed, how do you test your hypothesis and build that all important evidence base?
Our next event focuses on this common concern: how do you best engage schools and how do create a meaningful, curriculum-relevant workshop, while testing your product?
From Pre-school to Primary, Secondary to Further Education, we've invited a fantastic set of tech start-ups to speak about their success and failures in engaging schools and students and a panel of educators passionate about technology - well-versed in the assumptions start-ups make.
The evening will be a presentation/panel discussion mix, which will open up to the floor for questions.
Evening Format:
Zondle - Founders, Ben and Wayne explore how they engage UK Primary schools with games-based learning
BlikBook - co-Founder Barnaby Voss explores how his company engages Higher Education
Social Media for Schools - co-Founder & educator, Leon Cych explores how his company engages education
Kaltura Video Platform - Global Sales Executive of Education and Media, Jeffrey Newman explores how an established edtech company works with schools
Decoded - co-Founder Alasdair Blackwell discusses how a new edu company plans to engage education
Teacher Panel (with Q&As from the floor)
Educators, Dawn Hallybone & Laura Knight, and Nick Dennis - discuss how third parties (start-ups) engage education - and the mistakes to avoid, and how to construct a great workshop!
A networking session will run at the end of the event, where you'll get a chance to meet the speakers, other tech start-ups and discuss your own ideas and innovations.
(BCS & TechHeads will be providing teas/coffees soft drinks/wines).
Looking forward to meeting you,
Ed & the TechHeads team.
