Join us for a fun evening of networking with an educational twist.
Meet our speakers:
Liz Jaluague is the Director of Corporate Relations at the Student Biotechnology Network. She graduated with a BSc in biochemistry from Queen's University, and currently works as a District Manager for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation. She also serves as the Canadian Events Director on the Students For Liberty North American Executive Board, and the Liberty Ambassador of the online social community, Liberty.me. Liz ran for Member of Parliament in the 2015 Canadian federal election.
Liz will be talking about: "Science: Starring You". Today's world can seem impersonal in the digital age. Join Liz to discuss the parallels of current trends in science and other industries, and how we as individuals still take the spotlight despite the growing emphasis on big data.
Lorraine Graves
“How to Use Canadian Culture to Your Advantage”
Growing up in Canada, we don’t understand how many of our attitudes, actions and words are shaped by Canadian culture. For those of us living here, we need to learn how to respect other cultures. For those of us new to Canada, it really helps to have our invisible culture explained.
Lorraine Graves has had her own company, Pearl Productions Ltd since April Fools’ Day 1986. She is an educational television producer, science journalist and Canadian culture coach. Come join her for an enjoyable evening of visiting and learning.
We welcome everyone in science, tech, engineering and related fields. It will be a great opportunity to meet the SCWIST community and to have an evening to relax.
