Love

One of the most verbalized spiritual practices I remember Dr. Hawkins speaking about is "To be kind and loving, towards everything and everyone, including oneself, at all times, in all places, no matter what!". This may sound simple enough but as some of you have learned it may be one of the most difficult, yet rewarding, spiritual practices.

The ego thrives on negativity. It thrives on hate, envy, pride, guilt, etc. To choose to be "kind and loving towards everything and everyone" takes away a large part of what keeps the "ego" going in our lives. If one practices this dictum, it will soon transform the ego from an unruly child to one's servant.

What I really like about this practice is that it leads to an even greater realization that "All is God and worthy of respect and reverence". That isn't easy to see from our dualistic ego-minds but I wouldn't be surprised if someone says to me that they realized that simply by "being kind and loving towards all of life".
