A Conversation With David Greene, EFF's Civil Liberties Director

Details

Join EFF-Austin for a conversation/Q&A with David Greene, Electronic Frontier Foundation's Civil Liberties Director and Senior Staff Attorney! We will be meeting Saturday, February 8th, at 7:30pm at Central Machine Works in East Austin. We will stake out a table and have a sign to identity ourselves. Central Machine Works is very large, so if you don't see us, feel free to leave a message in the event so we can try and find you.

David oversees EFF's free speech and privacy litigation. David has significant experience litigating First Amendment issues in state and federal trial and appellate courts and was a founding member of the Internet Free Expression Alliance. David is also an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he teaches classes in First Amendment and media law and an instructor in the journalism department at San Francisco State University. Before joining EFF, David was for twelve years the Executive Director and Lead Staff Counsel for First Amendment Project. He is a 1991 graduate of Duke University School of Law.

David will lead a relaxed conversation/Q&A around such topics as EFF's 2020 priorities in free speech litigation, EFF's long term ongoing efforts around mass surveillance litigation, the specifics of how EFF's legal work functions more generally, and EFF's efforts around the large platforms' role in removing and editing content on their sites. Join us!
