Cognitive Biases

Personal Updates
We start each meeting by going around the table and giving updates about EA-related events in our personal lives, followed by plans until the next meetup. The idea is to share activities the group might be interested in and encourage each other in pursuits which may not be as widely appreciated, like a Giving What We Can donation scheme.
Cognitive Biases
We will have a short interactive workshop about cognitive biases and their relation with effective altruism. If you haven't heard about cognitive biases before, you can have a look on these pages on LessWrong (http://wiki.lesswrong.com/wiki/Bias) and wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cognitive_biases) so that you are able to mention some.
On 20 september we will have a follow-up discussion about debiasing techniques.
Practical
We'll continue to meet in the afternoon at Film Café Oscar since it seems to be quiet and convenient for most people, at least those who showed up. Someone will be holding a sign that says 'LW' on it. If you have trouble finding us you can reach Devin at 06-5025-4214.
We have this Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/document/d/16bBtla1iVzkJjie-JK7Ozb9Ao8SbyJ9U924XyaEXTqY/edit?usp=sharing) where anyone can make suggestions, also for the coming meetups. And feel free to join our facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/262932060523750/?ref=br_tf) as well.
