Meet a superforecaster: Peter Wildeford, Institute for AI Policy and Strategy

Join Atlanta Effective Altruists for our April 2024 meeting! Last month, we discussed Superforecasting: The Art and Science of Prediction by Tetlock & Gardner, which showcases how to improve prediction skills using scientific methods and team collaboration.

This month, we'll gather for a meet and greet with a world-leading superforecaster. Peter Wildeford is the co-founder of the Institute for AI Policy and Strategy (IAPS), which offers research and advisory services for policymakers looking to understand and managing risks from advanced AI systems. Prior to IAPS, he co-founded Rethink Priorities, an impact-focused think tank. Peter has been a well-regarded superforecaster for years, and recently ranked 12th out of 3,330 entrants in the ACX Forecasting Contest.

Join us for another discussion of what makes for good prediction & the ways we can apply superforecasting tools to face major uncertainties in the world and our own lives.

This is a theater-seating hybrid discussion: Peter will join virtually, and we will pass a mic to participants for questions.
