EA Meetup With Talks

Dear friends of Effective Altruism,

We are excited to invite you to our next monthly meet-up!

Our guest will be Danny Lipsitz who has prepared an 11-minute video on his concept of External Movement-Building. Danny will join us live from New York City for a Q&A afterwards. Danny is an experienced music educator in NYC who uses the skills he learned over years of teaching to promote EA concepts to high school and university students. In his talk, Danny argues why the EA community should promote certain EA ideas to the general public without the goal of converting more people into effective altruists.

Just as in the previous months, the meet-up will take place online via video conference at https://meet.ealokal.de/EffectiveAltruismMunich

We will leave out the introductory talk and dive directly into the main topic at 19:00. After the talk, there will be an opportunity to have a discussion and socialise.

Wir freuen uns, euch zu unserem nächsten Meetup einzuladen!

Unser Gast wird Danny Lipsitz sein, der ein 11-minütiges Video über sein Konzept "External Movement-Building" vorbereitet hat. Danny wird anschließend live aus New York City zu einer Fragerunde zu uns stoßen. Danny ist ein erfahrener Musikpädagoge in NYC, der die Fähigkeiten, die er sich in jahrelanger Lehrtätigkeit angeeignet hat, einsetzt, um EA-Konzepte bei Schülern und Studenten zu fördern. In seinem Vortrag argumentiert Danny, warum die EA-Gemeinschaft bestimmte EA-Ideen in der breiten Öffentlichkeit bekannt machen sollte, ohne das Ziel zu verfolgen, mehr Menschen in effektive Altruisten zu verwandeln.

Wegen der derzeitigen Pandemie wird dieses Meetup online als Videokonferenz stattfinden auf https://meet.ealokal.de/EffectiveAltruismMunich. Wir werden den Einführungsvortrag auslassen und direkt mit dem des Abends um 19:00 anfangen.

Nach dem Vortrag wird es die Gelegenheit geben, sich mit anderen über Effektiven Altruismus und vieles mehr zu unterhalten.
