Dear friends of Effective Altruism,

We are excited to invite you to our next monthly meet-up!

This time we’re inviting you to help make our Munich group more effective. We’ll be giving a short introduction about what we’re currently doing and what models of EA community building are before splitting up into breakout rooms. There we’ll be discussing ways of increasing group engagement, outreach and support. The results will be presented in the main room where we’ll discuss possible changes and next steps.

Please join us, regardless how long you’ve been part of this group and how active you are. We’d like to get the views of a broad range of people in order to better calibrate our approach.

Just as in the previous months, the meet-up will take place online via video conference at https://meet.ealokal.de/EffectiveAltruismMunich

We will leave out the introductory talk and dive directly into the main topic at 19:00.

People who are unfamiliar with Effective Altruism are encouraged to watch “What are the most important moral problems of our time?” (https://youtu.be/WyprXhvGVYk) by one of the founders of Effective Altruism, Will MacAskill, or the longer talk “Prospecting for Gold” (https://youtu.be/67oL0ANDh5Y) by Owen Cotton-Barratt as introductions to the topic.

Liebe Freunde des Effektiven Altruismus,

wir freuen uns, Euch zu unserem nächsten monatlichen Meetup einzuladen!

Dieses Mal laden wir Euch ein, uns dabei zu helfen, unsere Münchner Gruppe noch effektiver zu machen. Wir werden eine kurze Einführung darüber geben, was wir derzeit tun und welche Modelle des EA Community Building es gibt, bevor wir uns in Breakout-Räume aufteilen. Dort werden wir Möglichkeiten diskutieren, wie wir das Engagement, die Reichweite und die Unterstützung der Gruppe erhöhen können. Die Ergebnisse werden im Hauptraum präsentiert, wo wir mögliche Änderungen und nächste Schritte besprechen werden.

Bitte nehmt teil, unabhängig davon, wie lange Ihr schon Teil dieser Gruppe und wie aktiv Ihr seid. Wir möchten die Ansichten eines breiten Kreises von Leuten einholen, um unseren Ansatz besser kalibrieren zu können.

Wie in den vergangenen Monaten wird das Treffen online per Videokonferenz unter https://meet.ealokal.de/EffectiveAltruismMunich stattfinden.

Wir werden den Einführungsvortrag weglassen und um 19:00 Uhr direkt in das Hauptthema eintauchen.
