Meetup with talks: Introduction to effective altruism

We warmly invite you to our next meetup! Come along to learn about some of the key ideas behind effective altruism and meet other like-minded people.
Are you interested in learning more about effective altruism but not sure where to start?
Or perhaps you are a long-time community member who wants to refresh on the basics and meet others?
In either case, this event is for you. It is also the perfect occasion to bring along friends that you think would resonate with EA ideas.
We'll talk about
- why it is important to approach doing good with care and research
- how to determine the most promising global problems and solutions
- what you can do to have a bigger positive impact
We will kick off the evening at 19:00 with an introductory talk about effective altruism, after which you are encouraged to discuss a few EA-related questions. We will then carry on with informal socialising and drinks into the evening.
The meetup will take place in person, at Praterinsel 4, 1st floor - our meeting place from before the pandemic. However, due to the pandemic, we're following the 2G rule: entry is only allowed for those vaccinated against or recovered from COVID-19. We will be checking proof of 2G at the door, as well as providing additional ventilation and hand sanitizer to limit any risks of spreading COVID.
