EgyptJS November 2021 Meetup

We're back!

It's been a while, and a lot has happened over the past year, we're excited to bring our regular meetups back (every second Wednesday of the month at 7pm), we got a permanent hosting spot thank to Thndr (https://thndr.app)will be bringing you talks from companies in Egypt and abroad.

19:15 - 19:45 Step up your React Native QA with code push
Youssef Maged is Senior Engineer @Thndr

QA needs to be able to test new client side code before joining trunk (master).
In this short talk Maged will tell us about the problems we had QA-ing the app before integrating this flow in our CI pipeline, what solutions exist, on web and in mobile, and what we tired for our react native app.

Ahmed Hassanein is Senior Frontend developer @Vivy with more than 10 years of experience

In this remote talk, Ahmed will be Giving their opinionated view on technical debt and how it changed over time from a junior developer to a Senior developer.

20:50 - 21:00 Write compile time code using Babel macros
Mohamed Shaban is Software engineer @Shopify and co-organizer of EgyptJS

In this short lightning talk, Shaban will show us how to improve productivity and developer experience by using babel macros. Babel Macros give you the ability to transform and change the source code in compile time.

So many ideas, and endless possibilities. I'll share some interesting macros that you can use them right away.

21:20 - 22:00 Toggle based development with unleash
Amr Draz is Engineer Director @ Thndr and co-organizer of EgyptJS

Branch based development patterns like git flow are wide spread, but the DevOps movement following a report by DORA started promoting a new kind of flow called trunk based development, separating deployment from release.

What are the trade offs of this new approach, why is it worth it, and how can you get started.
