20th Eindhoven Data Community meetup: Everything about dbt

This 20th Eindhoven Data Community meetup is about a tool that is high on the favorites list of Analytics Engineers: dbt!

The Data build tool (dbt) is an open source tool that helps analysts and engineers transform data in their warehouse more effectively. During this meetup we will take you into the world of the possibilities and impossibilities of dbt. We will make this is an engaging meetup that will attract both data enthusiasts who are unfamiliar with dbt and those who are experienced with it.

The Data Control Plane Through the Eyes of an Analytics Engineer
During his career Giancarlo felt the need for a structured data control plane, something that brings order, visibility, and efficiency to fast-paced analytics workflows. In this talk he explores that journey, from the early struggles of managing transformations manually to discovering dbt Cloud as the perfect solution. He is sharing real-world insights on how dbt Cloud streamlines data transformation, governance, and collaboration, making life easier for analytics teams, data practitioners and data users.

Make your boss love dbt: Bringing value though best practice
Back in 2020, when Ricardo started his journey as Analytics Engineer, his first assignment was to create a PoC to showcase what dbt could bring to the table for the company. In this talk, Ricardo will share all the tips, tricks, and anecdotes of how he convince his Boss to implement dbt across a organization and cut big bucks in costs in there cloud pipelines.

Giancarlo Gavotti | Solutions Architect at dbt Labs
Half Italian, half Spanish, with a background in Information Systems Management. After university, Giancarlo started working in data at a healthtech startup, where he discovered dbt (and fell in love with it) and quickly became an Analytics Engineer. Later, he moved to fintech, where he implemented dbt from scratch and led a team of Analytics Engineers. Now, as a Solutions Architect at dbt Labs, he helps teams scale their data practices efficiently; and he is loving it!

Ricardo Granados | Author, Analytics Engineer at Xebia Data
Ricardo Granados, co-author of Fundamentals of Analytics Engineering,  is an analytics engineer specializing in data engineering and analysis. With a master’s in IT management and a focus on data science, he is proficient in using various programming languages and tools. Ricardo is skilled in exploring efficient alternatives and has contributed to multicultural teams, creating business value with data products using modern data stack solutions. As an analytics engineer, he helps companies enhance data value through data modeling, best practices, task automation, and data quality improvement.
