Have you heard about "breathwork" before and didn't quite know what it was or how to do it? What if you could quiet your mind and stop overthinking - simply by following a specific way of breathing for a few minutes? Or feel energized and ready to tackle any challenges?
Even process lingering emotions, thoughts, or bodily tension? Let go of anxiety, stress, or feeling low? Less anxious, worried, and fearful - more joyful, energized, and content? All while strengthening the mind-body connection?
This is a weekly class that introduces the practice of yogic breathwork, Prāṇāyāma. The practice is supported by rich Yogic philosophy and wisdom.
We prioritize building familiarity, awareness, and comfort in your own body. Each week, we’ll explore 2–3 techniques from different categories such as foundational, balancing and purifying, energizing and heating, cooling, and meditative breathwork. If you feel drawn to any of these, it’s a good reason to come give it a try.
Let's experience together how breathwork gives an embodied experience of meditation. Deepen your practice of yoga. Or simply come to ease your mind, heart, and body. To learn how to go from overthinking, anxiety, and worry to feeling calm, confident, and energized.
Unlike some breathwork courses, we start slow and steady—with no intense or forced breathing styles. And we won’t explore higher-paced techniques until you feel comfortable and ready.
The course is designed with a complete beginner in mind. From an anxious teenager, to a stressed adult, to a retired older person. You are free to come if you would like to experience for yourself any of the benefits listed above. Or if you're just curious. No need for experience with breathwork, meditation, or yoga.
Language:
The course will be delivered in English. Occasional Dutch explanations may be given upon asking, with the help of other participants. The words and the practice are simple enough to be followed by anyone with a minimal understanding of English.
Payment:
€ 10 (cash or phone, in person). For now, I keep the price symbolic because I want this class to be a low-entry point to the subtle practices of Yoga. Experience Yoga by doing, observing, and reflecting.
Logistics:
If you can’t make it, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. Of course, emergencies happen and we understand, but don't make it a regular thing.
We start on time, so make sure you arrive up to 15 minutes before the start of the class. Please message me on whatsapp if you are late.
Location:
Let's make use of the warm weather while it lasts. This Saturday's class will be given on a private rooftop terrace nearby Five Guys.
Considerations:
Wear comfortable clothes. Try not to eat about 30 minutes before we start - unless you are hungry and really have to. And don't worry about being tired in the morning - this practice will wake you up.
Bring something to sit or lie down on: a yoga mat, an exercise mat, etc. Especially if you are staying for the Yoga Nidra class afterwards - we will need it. There are chairs available too, so don't worry if you don't have a mat yet.
Tea will be provided.
I look forward to practicing together with you.
