Death in Different Cultures

Details

In this session, we’ll explore how different cultures and philosophies have grappled with death not just as an end, but as a concept deeply interwoven with how we live. From the Egyptian afterlife to Tibetan sky burials, from Stoic acceptance to Hindu reincarnation, from nihilist indifference to existential reverence death has many faces.
Topics we may touch on:
• Death and its beliefs across cultures
• Is death a tragedy or a necessity?
• The fear of death vs the embrace of impermanence
• Immortality , a dream or curse?
• Grief, mourning, and the ethics of remembering
• Assisted dying and death as a right
• How do our views on death shape how we live?
