Exploratory Data Analysis in R

Join the Ekiti R-Users Group for a practical, hands-on online session on “Exploratory Data Analysis in R: From Raw Data to Insight.”
In this workshop, we will work with a synthetic dataset based on Nigerian contexts in education, health, and small business. You’ll see how to move from raw data to meaningful insights using modern R tools.
We will cover:

• Organising data in a tidy format
• Data wrangling with dplyr (filtering, selecting, transforming, summarising)
• Data visualisation with ggplot2 (scatterplots, bar charts, boxplots, faceting)
• Building a simple EDA story from tables and plots

This session is ideal for:

• Students and researchers who already know the basics of R
• Lecturers and analysts working with survey or administrative data
• Data enthusiasts who want to become more confident with real-world data exploration

Requirements

• A laptop with R and RStudio (or Posit Cloud)
• Basic familiarity with R objects and data frames
• Stable internet connection to follow the live coding
