What we’re about
Welcome!
This is a critique group for fiction writers of all levels. Whether you write novels or short stories, fantasy or poetry, we welcome your participation. Our group meets about twice a month to discuss and critique each other’s writing in a fun and safe environment.
What you can expect from this group:
• Honest, constructive criticism of your submissions regarding voice, character, plot, setting, structure, etc.
• Acknowledgment of your writing strengths
• Connections with other writers who are invested in your success
What this group expects from you:
• That you attend regularly
• That you read the submissions in advance of each meeting
• That you share both positive and critical feedback on the other writers’ submissions
Group guidelines:
• Meetings are held every other Saturday at 1pm
• Submissions are due no later than Wednesday evening before the meeting
• For prose, submit a completed chapter or short story (not to exceed 5,000 words)
• For poetry, submit up to three poems
• If you have to miss a meeting, please still read the week’s submissions and send a critique by email if you are able
*New attendees: When you RSVP, you will be given a view-only link to the submission folder for the next meeting. Please read the submissions ahead of time and come prepared to join the discussion. Your first meeting will be an opportunity for you to see critique in action and to experience our group dynamic. If you would like to become a regular member after this meeting, you will be given full access to the Google Drive and will be worked into the submission schedule.
