Details
In a poor, remote part of southern Mexico, a paramilitary group has taken control. God has been outlawed, and the priests have been systematically hunted down and killed. Now, the last priest is on the run. As this 'whiskey-priest' moves from one place to another, Greene takes us on a journey taut with suspense and tension. We not only witness the priest's struggle to escape, but we also get to look into his tormented soul and his ambivalence about his religious faith.
Through 67 years of writing, which included over 25 novels, Graham Greene explored the conflicting moral and political issues of the modern world. He was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize in Literature several times.
