Feb Topic = Thermal Imaging: See & Stop Heat Loss At Home

Hi everyone, we had a great first Meet Up in Jan. Our Feb Meet Up is going to be held in Staple Hill and there'll be more samosas, DIY draught-excluders, and socialising - as well as discussions about what we can do locally to transition to green energy and tackle fuel hardship.

This month the topic is Thermal Imaging – the process of using an infrared camera to detect temperature variations, identifying heat loss, air leaks, and inefficiencies in a home.

This Month
– Where ELCoE is up to & our aims
– Guest speakers from The CHEESE Project CIC
– Free Thermographic Surveys to give away that are worth £325!
– Make a draught excluder and socialising (+ samosas from Jeevans)
– Retrofit info desk from Retrofit West

We're excited to be joined by The CHEESE Project and one of their surveyors, Rob Benington, an expert in thermal imaging and home energy conservation. CHEESE stands for Cold Homes Energy Efficiency Survey Experts and they use thermal cameras to see your home's heat is escaping - cutting down bills and also reducing energy use. There'll be plenty of tips and hacks for us to put into practice after the session.

Also ELCoE are really happy that this month we're able to pay for some homes to have a Thermal Imaging Survey done with The CHEESE Project for free (!!) They're worth over £275 full price so make sure to put your name down for one at the Meet Up.

You’ll be able to talk to people who’ve already taken retrofit measures in a home local to you, and hear how they found the process. Or if you've made any energy-saving adaptations at home why not share your experience with your neighbours?

ELCoE is a local not-for-profit and we're organising the Meet Up, here's our website if you want to hear more about what we do. The Meet Up is open to everyone and free to attend - no need to book a place, just come by. This month we're holding it in the Main Hall of the Staple Hill Methodist Church (we’re an external hire and not affiliated with the church).

5 Reasons to come along
