Keitai Chōrai Mobile Music Jam 2019-11

Keitai Chōrai (formerly Chōrai Mobile) is a stem in our group that focuses on making music with portable workstations (iPads, tablets, Android, iOS, etc.).

We normally rent room E1 at Sound Studio Noah 2 (not 1) in Shibuya:

Join fellow mobile production enthusiasts as we jam with blips and bloops on tablet or phone music production apps on iOS and Android, or whatever else is portable for you. We simply mix our talent together and see how it goes. Sometimes it’s terrible, sometimes it’s more than okay!

Please bring your own audio cables for the mixer as the studio doesn’t always have them. Don’t forget to also bring connectors (e.g. the Lightning headphone jack connector for the iPhone). To know which cables you need for the mixer, see the post linked below:

The studio now has free wifi in every room! No need to ask for a router anymore. We just need to connect to wifi and sync our gear via Ableton Sync and we’re good to go.

Also, please don’t drown everyone else with the volume of your gear. If you want to be a one-man show, rent the studio for yourself. Respect others who want to join in.

We ask everyone to split the fee for the studio. It is NOT always 1,000 JPY. We normally rent the biggest room, E1, for 2 hours, totalling 7,000 JPY. If 7 people come, it’ll be 1,000 each. If you come for 60 minutes or less, we’ll ask you to only pay for one hour. Anything more than 60 minutes, we’ll ask for two.

We do our best to do it once every two months, usually on odd months (January, March, May, etc.), on the last Wednesday evening of the month.

UPDATE 2019-11-06: Everyone, we had to postpone the event to THURSDAY November 28.

We could not reserve a room for Nov 27, but we could get one for 28.

So, this month, Keitai Chōrai will be on THURSDAY November 28. Same time. Same studio. Same room, E1. Same cost.
