Using Elementor with Custom Post Types, Fields, and Off-Canvas Content

This meetup will bring together ideas we have shared in the past few meetups into one demonstration on how to create a Staff page in Elementor using the following:

• Create a custom post type for Staff using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin (free version - https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-custom-fields/)
• Create custom fields for staff title, phone, email, and LinkedIn profile URL.
• Create a custom Loop Grid to display staff on a page.
• Create an off-canvas widget to display this content in a modal window.

In addition, we will review how to:

• Conditionally hide/show information, for example, hide the phone number if the person does not have a phone number they want to share.
• Use a custom sort order use Post Types Order plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/)

This will be a more formal presentation than what we have been doing the past few months with slides and step-by-step instruction for you to repeat.

Attending the Meetup live will allow you to ask questions that might be useful for ideas of how you might use these techniques with other post type you might have in mind.

With every site I build, I try to always implement a custom post type for any repeating content on a page. This simplifies adding to or removing this content in the future and allows formatting or reformatting to be handled quickly with templates (the loop grid and off-canvas or single post template).
